The Baie-Comeau Drakkar ("Viking Ship") are a junior ice hockey team in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. They play at Centre Henry-Leonard in Baie-Comeau, Quebec, Canada. Their franchise was granted for the 1997–98 season. ==History== The Drakkar first played in the QMJHL in 1997. One of the founders of the team was former Quebec Nordique co-founder Marius Fortier. Baie-Comeau has generally not been successful on the ice, never having won the President's Cup, and with just seven winning seasons in their history, clustered between 2001-2003, 2007-2008 and from 2013 to the 2014 season. The 2012-13 team made it to the league finals for the first time in franchise history, finishing with the second best record in the league and losing in the finals to the Halifax Mooseheads, four games to one. NHL alumni include Marc-André Bergeron, Jean-François Jacques, Yanick Lehoux, Olivier Michaud, Joel Perrault, Patrick Thoresen, Bruno St. Jacques and Gabriel Bourque.
